CA Foundation 2023 Course Eligibility
A candidate must adhere to certain eligibility criteria that are fundamental to the application process before filling out the form. There are specific conditions listed below that have to be met before applying for the CA foundation by the ICAI:
- In order to be eligible, the candidate must have completed his or her senior secondary education or its equivalent from a recognized board or university.
- Students who had cleared their 12th from arts or science background are also eligible for the CA Foundation exam.
ICAI has now enabled class 10th students to register for the CA Foundation course before passing Class 10 examinations. In addition, this preliminary admission will only be modulated or regularised after the candidate passes their 12th-grade exams.

CA Foundation Registration 2023
When students pass their 12th exam and want to become CAs and are interested in completing the CA Foundation Course, they need to register themselves with ICAI and pay the prescribed registration fee to complete the registration procedure. However, the last date for registration for the Dec 2023 attempt is 1st July 2023. In case any student missed this attempt then the student can register for May 2024 exams is Jan 1, 2024.
Any candidate can register on their own by going to the official website of ICAI for appearing in CA Foundation 2023 course, Students have to keep in mind that there is no other offline method for registration, it can be only done online through the ICAI portal. CA Foundation 2023 Registration Validity
Once a student has registered for the CA Foundation course then the registration is valid for 3 years from the date of registration. For instance, If a student is unable to clear the CA Foundation exam on the first attempt then they have 5 more attempts to pass the exams without paying any extra cost for registration fees.

For instance, students must pay the full fees of Rs 11,300 including miscellaneous charges for the CA Foundation course. There are three main parts of fees which are Registration Fees, Exam form Fees & Extra cost.

CA Foundation Syllabus 2023
The CA Foundation Syllabus consists of 4 Papers namely, accounts, law, maths and Economics. The 1st and 2nd papers are objectives, whereas the other 2 are subjective. Important note – Students will not receive advance reading time in Paper 3 and Paper 4 of the examination, but there will be 15 minutes allotted to them for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
CA Foundation Marking Scheme
CA Foundation Course comprises 4 papers two of them are subjective and two papers are objective. However negative marking for the wrong answers will remain the same in objective papers i.e. for each wrong answer ICAI will deduct ¼ mark and for each correct answer candidate will be given 1 mark. Two new subjects are also introduced in the new CA Foundation course syllabus seeing their importance. Students require to get 40% in individual subjects compared to CPT in which they needed only 30% in individual subjects in CA Foundation. However, the aggregate percentage will remain the same i.e. 50%.

CA Foundation Exam Form 2023
Registration in the CA Foundation course does not mean that you can appear in this exam. Students need to file a CA foundation exam Application form to be eligible for the exam. Students are required to fill out an exam form on the official ICAI website by using their same CA Foundation registration number and password submitted at the time of registration. So, students please make sure to submit your exam form before the last date. While filling out the exam form, the Username will be the registration number for example CRO254123. This username will remain the same till the filing of the CA Final exam form. However, you can reset the password as and when required.
CA Foundation Admit Card Details
In order to appear in the CA Foundation Nov 2023 examination, Students require the admit card for the Nov 2023 attempt. However, ICAI issued the CA Foundation admit card 14 days before the commencement of the exam. Students can download the admit card only from the ICAI official website. For downloading admit card student has to login into their account on the ICAI portal after that they can download it from there. The admit card contains the student’s registration number, his/her name, roll number, examination centre, and timetable. The students can download their admit cards up to three times from the portal.
