CA Foundation Registration dates for the May 2023 Examination are out. The last date to register for the CA Foundation 2023 examination is 1st January 2023 for May 2023 attempt and July 1st for May 2023 attempt.
CA Foundation Course is the entry-level exam for pursuing a Chartered Accountancy Course in India. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is responsible for conducting CA Examination in India. After Passing CBSE Class 12th examination or equivalent examination recognized by the Government or Government body, Students can register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the CA Foundation Course. Students who want to appear in the CA Foundation course have to go through a systematic process of filling the CA Foundation Registration and Application Form. CA Foundation Registration process is held twice a year in the month of December and June.

New CA Foundation Registration Forms are issued by the ICAI after the declaration of the CA Foundation Result of the current session.
CA Foundation Eligibility
Below is the CA Foundation May 2023 eligibility.
Students are eligible to appear in the CA Foundation Examination only after qualifying for the senior secondary (10+2) examination conducted by an examining body. After registration with ICAI, Students are required to complete a minimum of 4 months study period starting from the date of registration in order to be eligible to appear in the Foundation Examination, i.e., students registered before 1st January will be eligible to appear in the May examination and before 1st July for Nov examination, as the case Dec be.
As per the revised CA Foundation Course of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, the aspirant of CA shall be required to pass the CA Foundation Examination instead of Common Proficiency Test to enter in CA Course.
Consequently, the registration for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) shall discontinue effect from July 1 2017 though exams of students enrolled before July 2017 for the Common Proficiency Test will be conducted till June 2019.

CA Foundation Online Registration Process
The process of CA Foundation registration starts with filling the Online Registration Form for May 2023 Examination. You can start filling your online registration form from below online registration process.
Steps for filling CA Foundation Registration Form Online May 2023 Examination
Step 1- Students who are registering for the very first time for CA Foundation Examination, should click here.
You will be taken to this screen. Please fill in your required details and click on Generate OTP. You will receive OTP on your mobile phone and the verification link will be sent to your concerned mail ID.

Step 2- Now Students are required to enter the captcha text and submit it for receiving OTP.


Step 3- For validation, an OTP will be sent
Step 4- Fill the OTP and by validating complete the login process
Step 5- Once you complete the OTP Validations, you will receive the login details on Email/SMS so that you can log in. You can log in here.

Step 6- After you log in, you have to provide the necessary credentials in the registration form. There you also have to upload the scanned copies of your original documents.
Details mentioned in the CA Foundation BOS Registration 2023 are:
- Name of the Father
- Name of the mother
- Your Complete address
- City
- Pin code
- Category
- Nationality
Step 7- Now you need to upload your scanned photograph and signature. The maximum image ratio should be width: 21 cm and length: 27 cm.
Step 8- After you complete your above-mentioned process, you have to pay the required CA Foundation registration fees.
On successful payment, the system will automatically generate a successful transaction message along with the form automatically.
Here you complete your CA Foundation Registration process, now ICAI will send you the CA Foundation course Study Material through CDS(Centralized Dispatch System).
Documents required for CA Foundation Registration Process
Below are the documents which are required for the ICAI CA Foundation Registration Process-
- Appearing students are required to an attested copy of the mark sheet/ Admit card of their 12th Class.
- For international students, they required a copy of proof for their citizenship.
- For the SC/ST/OBC special category students, they are required to submit the certificate of proof.
- The Latest photo of appearing students to affix on the registration form.
- A copy of the 10th mark sheet, which shows the student’s name and date of birth.
While filling the CA Foundation Registration form, candidates should take into consideration the following points
Follow the below points to avoid errors in the CA Foundation registration form.
- After filling the Online Form, a candidate has to pay the required fees online using the payment gateway.
- On successful payment, the system will automatically generate the Form. Then take the print of the form.
- Along with print out of the online registration form, the following documents are to be submitted to the concerned Regional Office of ICAI within 7 days of the date of online registration
- The duly signed printout of the online successful registration form in hard copy
- One recent color photograph (affixed on the printout of the online successful registration form)
- Attested copy of the 10th Marksheet/ Admit Card of 10th class indicating the Name & Date of Birth
- Attested copy of Admit Card / Mark sheet of Class 12 examination issued by the respective Board
- If a student is a foreigner, then an attested copy of proof of Nationality should also be submitted,
- For students of reserved category and disabled students, attested copy of proof of special category certificate i.e SC/ST, OBC and Differently abled should be provided.
Why Do Students Need CA Foundation Registration Letter Before Exam?
Students are always advised by ICAI to bring their CA Foundation registration letter along with the admit card. In the absence of the availability of admit cards, If a student has a registration letter then he/she can appear in the examination after some procedures. If students lost their registration number, the registration letter helps in claiming your registration number.

Steps to Check CA foundation Registration Form Status Online
Students who are concerned about their CA Foundation registration can check their CA Foundation Registration Process status online, whether they fill the form correctly or not. Below are the two steps which will make sure that your registration has been made successful.
- After the complete process of the CA foundation registration process, students will receive a confirmation mail including CA Foundation Registration Number and password.
- Students can also check the CA Foundation Registration Form Status by visiting the official website of ICAI.
What After CA Foundation Registration
After successful completion of CA Foundation Registration, students are also required to fill the CA Foundation application form for appearing in Foundation Examination. The registration in Foundation Course is valid for 3 years. It can be revalidated any number of times for a further 3 years period by paying a revalidation fee of Rs. 300/-.

Passing Criteria for Foundation Examination
A Foundation Course candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination if he/ she obtains at one sitting a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all the papers, subject to negative marking.
