CA Intermediate exam registration for September 2024 has officially commenced. So the CA Inter registration date is July 20, 2024, and students must create a login ID or use an already created login ID to fill out the ICAI CA application form 2024 form. The exam will take place between September 12 – 23, 2024.

Eligibility for CA Intermediate Registration

There are two routes to register for the CA Inter exam registration are as follows:

CA Foundation Route:

Students must clear the CA Foundation exam with the required percentage to be eligible to register for the CA Intermediate exam.

CA Direct Entry Route:

Graduates or Post-Graduates who wish to appear for the CA course can skip the CA Foundation and opt for this route to register for the CA Inter exam.

The registration deadline for appearing in the CA Intermediate May 2025 Examination through both routes will be September 1, 2024. So, CA Intermediate eligibility criteria under the Direct entry route include the following:

  • Commerce graduate or postgraduate students should have scored 55% marks or more, while non-commerce graduates or postgraduates must achieve at least 60%.
  • Candidates must clear the intermediate level of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Institute of Cost Accountancy in India.
  • Students registering through the foundation route for CA Intermediate may select both groups or only one of them. However, students registering via the direct route must register for both groups together.

How to Register For CA Intermediate?

Here are the steps you can follow to complete the CA Intermediate Registration:

  1. Visit the ICAI’s official website and log in to the SSP portal using your login credentials.
  2. After verification, select “Click Here to access the Student StSP Portal.”
  3. Choose the student cycle based on your exam route: “Intermediate through Foundation” for the Foundation route and “Intermediate” for the direct entry route.
  4. For direct entry, manually input personal details; for the Foundation route, details will automatically be filled. You must verify and check the details and click “Save and Next”.
  5. Provide all required qualifications information.
  6. Upload all necessary documents and click “Save and Next.”
  7. Upload an image/signature within 100KB for verification, then click “Generate OTP.”
  8. Enter the OTP received on the registered phone or follow the verification link sent via email and submit. Input Captcha before pressing “Submit.”
  9. After that, you need to pay the necessary CA Intermediate registration fees.
  10. After you deposit the fees and complete the registration process, the system will generate a CA Intermediate registration form. You must save, print, sign, and submit this form to the regional office and supporting documents within seven days.

Under the new scheme, CA Intermediate course registration is valid for five years, and candidates may revalidate by paying Rs. 400 every five years after that. After initial registration has been completed, any required revalidation fees set out by authorities must be paid to revalidate the registration.

*Payment is to be made once only. 

  1. The CA Intermediate registration fee for both groups is $1000 and $600 for a single group for international students.
  2. Students opting for the CA Course via the direct entry route must pay Rs 200 (US $20) as additional fees besides the abovementioned fees for the prospectus cost.
  3. Additionally, direct entry students must register for the ITT and OP training programs before registering for the 15-day practical training.
  4. The ITT(Information Technology Training) Program fee is Rs 6500/ inclusive of the Study Material and tea/refreshments offered by the ICAI.
  5. The OP (Orientation Program) fee is Rs 7000, inclusive of the study materials and tea/refreshments offered by the ICAI.

Once the CA Intermediate 2024 registration process has been completed, candidates have successfully been registered with ICAI BoS (Board of Studies). Candidates must fill out the CA Intermediate exam form application to take the September 2024 exams. Also, they must take note of the deadlines as if they fail to do so, they won’t be able to sit for the exams.

List of Documents Required for CA Intermediate Registration

Completing the CA Intermediate registration requires submitting scanned copies of multiple documents. Hence, you must keep these documents before starting the registration process. So here are the documents to consider:

  • Copy of class 12th mark sheet or its equivalent completed from a board recognized by the Central Government for those opting for the foundation route.
  • Those opting for the CA Direct route should submit their Graduation/Post Graduation mark sheet or the mark sheet issued by the Intermediate level examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) if cleared.
  • Recent colour photograph of the candidate.
  • Nationality proof copy for international students.
  • Special category certificate, i.e., SC/ST, OBC, Differently abled (if needed).

Steps To Check The CA Intermediate Registration Status

Once registration has been completed, students often need clarification on whether their CA Intermediate registration is completed. Follow these easy steps to verify whether you’ve successfully enrolled for CA Inter:

  • First, visit to the ICAI website (www.icai.org).
  • Now, click on the E-services option.
  • So this will redirect you to the “Reprint Letter”. Click on it.
  • So now, enter all required details and receive your letter reflecting your registration status.
  • This process typically takes 30-40 days, so visit the website frequently.
  • If this deadline has passed and your registration status has no update, contact your regional office right away on any working day to inquire further.

Note: Students should download their Foundation mark statements immediately from the internet and register themselves before waiting for the examination division.
