What are CA Intermediate Registration Eligibility Criteria? 

Appearing candidates must clear the entry-level CA Course, i.e., the CA Foundation exam, to be eligible for the CA Intermediate registration. There are two different paths through which a student can enrol for the CA Intermediate exam.

Below are the eligibility criteria for CA Intermediate registration through the various streams.

Through CA Foundation Method: 

• Students have to Clear the 10+2 from the recognized board along with the ICAI CA Foundation examination to appear in the CA Intermediate examination.

Through Direct Entry Method: 

Students can register directly for an Intermediate level without passing the entrance level.

• Students who are Graduates or Postgraduates in Commerce and have secured a minimum of 55% can register directly for Intermediate without passing CA Foundation or CPT.
• Non-commerce Graduates/Postgraduates can also register for Intermediate by securing 60% marks in Graduation/Postgraduate.
• Apart from the above, the students who cleared the Intermediate level of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Registration Process for CA Intermediate Exam 2024

Students can register for the Intermediate course by filling out the online CA Intermediate registration form, which is available on the ICAI official website under the student’s tab in course registration forms.

The appearing candidate is required to pay the prescribed fees, which are mentioned while filling out the CA Intermediate registration form through the payment gateway.

Below is the step-by-step registration procedure for students who ask, “How do I register for CA Intermediate Form Online 2024?”

Step 1. Login to the SSP (Self-Service Portal).

Visit ICAI.org, and you will find a Self-Service Portal Link in the Top Right corner of the header. You can click there directly, or you can visit another URL, which is https://eservices.icai.org. After that, You have to log in into your self service portal by entering your login credentials. In case you don’t have an account. Then, you have to select the link named (First Time User) it is for new students who don’t have their login credentials yet.

Step 2. Once the authentication is done, You will be redirected to the other screen, Now tap on the given link to access the student SSP portal. 

Step 3. Click on the student cycle in the blue box as shown below. 

Step 4. Following the next page, students who are coming through the CA Foundation route have to click on “Intermediate through PE1/CPT/Foundation”. Other students who have completed their graduation or are coming through the CS and CMA Executive route should click on “Intermediate ( Direct entry) for the existing student”.

Step 5. On the next page, your personal details will be filled out automatically if you’re an old student, and if you’re a new student, you will have to fill them out manually. Check the details thoroughly, verify them, and click on next. Now, you have to enter the exact details of your Qualifications as given over there. You will have to attach a scanned copy of the Class X and Class XII document along with an attested copy. 

Step 6.  After uploading the copies and verifying them, you have to fill in the details below.

Step 7. Over the blue highlighted box, click on Save and Next.

Step 8.  Now, Students have to upload their picture and signature by clicking on the click here to upload blue box in the right column. The maximum image size should be below 100 KB and has to be 21cm wide & 27cm in length. All the uploaded documents should be in jpg/jpeg format. If all these conditions are not met correctly, chances are that your application may get rejected by ICAI.

Step 9. Recheck all the details which you have provided and then click on Generate OTP to Confirm. 

Step 10. Your verification link will be sent to the registered email address, and you will also receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. 

Step 11. Enter your OTP and complete the validation and login process. Carefully complete the captcha.

After filling out the CA Intermediate registration form and making the payment, the ICAI system will generate a form for you. You are required to take a printout and submit this form to the concerned regional office within 7 days after signed by the candidate along with the documents.

CA Intermediate Registration Fee Structure 2024

The cost for foreign students to register for CA Intermediate is $1000 for both groups and $600 for a single group.

Direct Entry Students also need to register for the ITT and OP training programs before registering for the 15-day practical training.

• The CA Intermediate fee for the ITT(Information Technology Training) Program is Rs 6500/—, which includes the CA Intermediate Study Material and tea/refreshments provided by the ICAI.
• The fee for the OP (Orientation Program ) is Rs 7000/—, which includes Study Materials and tea/refreshments provided by the ICAI.
• Students who register after clearing the Intermediate level of the ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) or ICWAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) can complete this training after passing either one or both intermediate groups but before the commencement of practical training.

Note for Students—Students entering the CA Course by the direct entry route have to pay Rs 200 (US $20) for a prospectus in addition to the above fees.

Important Note: Students from the newly formed union territories—Ladakh, Jammu, Kashmir, and North East—are eligible for a concession on their CA Intermediate registration fees.

These students have to pay Rs 1800/—for both groups and Rs 1300/—for a single group if a candidate is registering for CA intermediate registration for May 2024.

To avail of the concession, the Student is required to upload the self-attested documents during the time of registration.

Other required documents are:- 

• Domicile Certificate
• Identity Proof – Aadhar Card / Passport / Voter ID

Available payment modes for paying registration fees:- 

Students can submit their fees through – Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Rupay Card/ Visa Card/ Master Card/ Maestro Credit Card or Bhim UPI.   

Once a student has submitted their registration fees successfully, they will get a system-generated form along with the transaction message of the completed payment for future reference.

Students will get a validity of 4 years for their registration for the CA Intermediate Course. In addition, If a student wishes to renew the validity after 4 years. Then, the student can revalidate it for more than 4 years by paying the revalidation fees of Rs 400/-.

What documents are required for CA Inter Registration 2024?

1. Submit an attested copy of the Marksheet of class 12th or its equivalent Central Govt. recognized examination pass Mark statement.
2. Direct Entry Students have to Submit an attested copy of the Graduation / Post Graduation Marksheet  OR
   Marksheet or Mark statement of Intermediate level Examination of ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) or ICWAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India)
3. Affix a coloured and latest photograph on the hard copy of the registration form.
4. Attested copy of the proof of Nationality, if the student is a foreigner.
5. Attested copy of the proof of special category certificate i.e. SC/ST/OBC

How do I check the CA Intermediate Registration Status?

Generally, once students have completed the registration process, they are bothered whether their CA Intermediate registration has been completed or not. So, Don’t panic; you can check it through the simple steps shared below. 

By following these simple steps, you can check your registration status-

1. Go to the ICAI website.
2. Then, in the upper right corner, you will find E-services. Click on E-services. This will take you to the page where you will find “Reprint Letter.” Click on it.

5. This process may take 30 – 40 days to get updated. So, you have to visit the site regularly.

If your registration status hasn’t been updated by the above timeframe, you should contact your regional office on any working day.
