CA Foundation Jan 2025 Registration Eligibility Criteria
Before aspirants proceed with the registration for the CA Foundation, it is important that they are aware of the eligibility criteria and also fulfil them. So here are the eligibility criteria that aspirants must fulfil:
- Students must have passed or appeared for 12th examinations established or conducted under Law or by an examining body recognized by the Central Government.
- Before September 1, 2024, they must complete the CA Foundation Registration Jan 2025 and should complete the mandatory 4-month study period.
- Students also must register with the Board of Studies (BoS).
ICAI has recently introduced provisional registrations for students who have passed their 10th class. So, instead of providing their 12th Marksheet, they only need to submit a scanned copy of their admit card. Students who have completed their exams but are waiting for the results may also register under Provisional registrations.
How to Register for CA Foundation Jan 2025?
- Visit the ICAI Exam website – icaiexam.icai.org, enter all required details, click Generate OTP, and then wait to receive it via mobile number or email ID registration.
- Enter this OTP to complete validation; your login credentials will then arrive by either SMS or Email.
- Log into the ICAI website using the credentials you received.
- Next, you will see two options: choose the Student Cycle on the left-hand side.
- Choose “Apply for Foundation”.
- Next, a form will appear with some details that have already been prefilled for you. Then, you just need to complete it by filling in some other details yourself and then click on ‘Save and Next.’
- Now, you must upload all the necessary documents in the scanned format.
- Next, you must also upload your photograph and signature.
- After you complete the registration form, you must then pay the required registration fees.
- Now that you have paid the fees and the registration is successful, the system will generate a CA Foundation form.
- You need to print the form, attach the necessary documents, and then send them to the ICAI postal address.
After successfully registering, ICAI will dispatch the CA Foundation study material through their Centralized Dispatch System (CDS). As soon as registration has been completed, students should begin preparing for exams immediately.
Important Documents For CA Foundation Registration
When completing the registration for CA Foundation exam, candidates must ensure that they have scanned copies of a few important documents. So these documents are as follows:
- Class 12th Admit Card/ Marksheet issued by the respective board.
- The candidate’s recent coloured photograph
- Proof of Nationality if the student is a foreigner.
- Special category proof certificate, i.e. ST/ SC/ OBC or differently-abled.
- Class 10th marksheet or the admit card of the 10th class showing the Name and Date of Birth.

CA Foundation Registration Jan 2025 Validity
CA Foundation exams are held twice each year. Once registered, your registration remains active for three years (six attempts), after which time it can be renewed by paying Rs 300 as revalidation fees.
